Open Access Policy
Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana (BIKDW) is a fully open-access journal. All articles are made freely and permanently available online to the public immediately upon publication to support greater global exchange of knowledge. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse the content for any lawful purpose, without prior permission from the publisher or the authors, provided appropriate credit is given. This policy is consistent with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Authors who publish in this journal retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles are simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)License, which permits sharing and adaptation of the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided proper attribution is given, and derivative works are distributed under the same license.
Authors may enter separate, non-exclusive arrangements for the distribution of the published version of the work (for example, depositing it in an institutional repository or including it in a book), provided acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal is clearly stated. Authors are also permitted and encouraged to disseminate their work online before and during the submission process, as this may enhance scholarly exchange and citation impact.
Repository or Self-Archiving Policy
Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana permits authors to deposit and share their manuscripts in institutional or other repositories of their choice without embargo, in accordance with the journal’s open access policy.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Under this license, users are permitted to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given. Any derivative works are distributed under the same license.
The following versions may be deposited:
- Submitted version (preprint) may be deposited at any time, including before peer review.
- Accepted version (author accepted manuscript) may be deposited immediately upon acceptance.
- Published version (version of record) may be deposited immediately after publication.
When depositing any version, authors must clearly acknowledge the original publication in Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana and include a full citation with a link to the official DOI of the published article. No embargo period applies.
Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy
Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. The journal uses recognized digital preservation services to ensure permanent archiving and continued access to articles in the event the journal ceases publication.
The Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana journal participates in the the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) and the LOCKSS system to provide decentralized, secure digital preservation of its content and to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, which permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration. Through this system, published articles are archived to ensure their long-term availability and integrity.
All articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent identification and reliable access. In addition, authors are permitted to deposit their published articles in institutional or other repositories in accordance with the journal’s repository policy.
If the Berkala Ilmiah Kedokteran Duta Wacana journal ceases publication, all archived content will remain accessible through the designated preservation services.
